Maurice Sendak died on May 8, from complications due to a recent stroke. =(
This man wrote and/or illustrated so many of the stories I loved as a kid.
Chicken Soup with Rice and
Where the Wild Things Are--of course--stand out, as well as his illustrations of the
Little Bear books. They were some of the reasons little Daft loved reading so much =)
Rest in peace, sir, and may your books continue to spark the imaginations of many generations of children to come.
